Our structural laboratory aims at contributing to the development of more advanced structural technologies, which enable the construction of safe and high-performance building structures. Tests on mechanical properties of large-scaled structural elements, building components, and building materials are performed by taking advantage of state-of-the-art technologies. Various technologies are used for the testing and research on concrete, steel frame, and timber structures. The results of the testing and research have lead to the development of new structural technologies.
Testing of structural members and assemblages using full-scale or scaled models to define structural behavior under various loading patterns.
Compliance testing of building elements and construction equipment based on JIS or other standards.
Vibration testing of full-scale or scaled models of structural systems as well as equipment and devices. Fatigue tests of structural materials, members and assemblages.
Testing and analysis to estimate the strength of existing buildings especially against earthquake loads.
Wall component test of housing systems.
